Charger, a Dubai-based electric mobility startup, is transforming the UAE’s electric vehicle (EV) landscape with innovative on-demand charging services. Established in 2024, the company offers convenient, efficient, and sustainable solutions for electric vehicle (EV) owners across the UAE.
Unlike traditional charging stations for EVs, Charger delivers mobile charging directly to EV users. Through the Charger app, customers can request a charge at their preferred location, whether at home, work, or on the go. This service operates 24/7, ensuring that EV owners can access power whenever they need it.
According to Farouq Khader, Founder of Charger, the company’s fleet of vehicles is equipped with DC fast-charging technology capable of delivering up to 250 kw. This enables rapid charging, reducing downtime and enhancing the overall user experience. Additionally, Charger’s vehicles are powered by biodiesel, which aligns with the company’s commitment to sustainability and reducing the carbon footprint associated with transportation.
Charger offers a variety of services beyond just charging. The company’s app also provides access to mobile car wash, tyre services, insurance assistance, and towing, all delivered directly to the user’s location. This comprehensive approach aims to save time and provide a seamless experience for EV owners.
Pricing is transparent and competitive. The service fee for scheduled charges is AED25, while instant charges incur a fee of AED35. The cost of electricity is AED1 per kWh, consistent with the new unified pricing introduced by the UAE government in January 2025.
To get started, users can download the Charger app from the App Store or Google Play, create an account, and select a charging plan that meets their needs. With its user-friendly interface and reliable services, Charger is enhancing the experience of owning an electric vehicle (EV), making it more convenient and accessible in Dubai.
